About US
Progress Transitional Nonprofit Housing Corporation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization which was established in 2007, as Progress Transitional House, Inc., by Juan Clark, Executive Director/Founder, and his supportive housing partner who was called home to be with the Lord. This organizations original mission, as it is today is to address the increased housing and supportive service needs of men, and women in the urban city of Detroit, and surrounding areas of Michigan experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, reentry, substance abuse, or mental illness.
In 2010, Progress Transitional Nonprofit Housing Corporation set a three year strategic plan to increase our service delivery system to develop affordable housing to assist in ending homelessness in Detroit and Michigan. With the help of volunteers, we provide safe supportive transitional and permanent housing, to homeless individuals throughout the Metropolitan Detroit area. We also provide these individuals with transportation, counseling, and referral assistance to various human service organizations, in an effort to increase their ability to gain permanent housing. We want our clients to feel empowered to establish change in their life.
Progress Transitional Housing enters into an agreement with our residents; that states, if they are willing to do the work necessary to achieve self-sufficiency, we will provide the housing and supportive services to empower them to achieve progress in their transition.
